Are you going on vacation and want to keep your home secure? Sign up for RCPD’s FREE Vacation Home Check in the City of Rancho Cordova!

A volunteer patrol will visit your home and check the windows and doors to make sure that your home is protected. To sign up, fill out the form below, call 916.875.9600 or visit the Service Center at 2897 Kilgore Road, Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM.

As you plan your vacation, remember these additional safety tips:

• Ask a friend or one of your neighbors to keep an eye on your property while you are away.
• Leave lights on when you go out. If you are going to be away for a length of time, connect some lamps to automatic timers to turn them on in the evening and off during the day.
• Don’t allow daily deliveries of mail, newspapers or flyers to build up while you are away. Arrange with the Post Office to hold your mail, or arrange for a friend or neighbor to take it regularly.
• In short, make your house look lived in.
• If you come home and see a broken window or a jimmied door, don’t go in. Confronting a burglar can be dangerous. Contact RCPD immediately by calling 911.
