The Investigations Unit provides highly detailed investigations of criminal acts to reach conclusions and resolutions that meet the needs and expectations of our community. The Unit strives to accomplish this through effective and efficient disposition of assigned cases, investigation of crimes, identification and apprehension of criminals, recovery of stolen property, preparation of case reports, and court testimony.

The Unit investigates two types of crimes in the City of Rancho Cordova: 

• Crimes against persons, including aggravated assaults, domestic violence, restraining orders, stalking, misdemeanor assaults and robberies
• Property crimes, including residential and business burglaries, vehicle burglaries, grand thefts, embezzlements, vandalism and missing persons
