On August 27, 2017, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department responded to a shooting in the 7500 block of Cottontree Way in south Sacramento. Upon deputies arriving they located a victim and identified him as 37-year-old Larry Ragsdale of Sacramento.
Ragsdale was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
During the course of this investigation, Sheriff’s Department Homicide Detectives developed a suspect in the murder of Ragsdale and identified him as 24-year-old Dayshawn Jackson of Sacramento. Detectives secured an arrest warrant for Jackson and he was later was located by authorities in Arizona.
Jackson was extradited from Arizona and was booked into the Sacramento Main Jail on June 10, 2018, where he is being held without bail due to his charges.
