On February 26, 2018, at 9:47 p.m. the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department Communication Center received multiple 911 calls from the area of Edison Avenue and Truax Court within north Sacramento County. Several callers reported hearing multiple gunshots in the area and a possible involved vehicle parked in the street.
Sheriff’s Deputies responded and upon their arrival, located a male victim inside a vehicle who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Deputies provided first-aid and performed life-saving measures on the victim but he was later pronounced dead by arriving personnel from the Sacramento Metro Fire Department.
At this time, investigators have not identified a motive for this crime and have not yet established any suspect information.
Sheriff’s Department Homicide investigators will remain on-scene throughout the night and Edison Avenue will be closed to through traffic at Bell Street to the east and Truax Court to the west.
The identity of the victim, in this case, will be made available by the Sacramento County Coroner’s office after notification has been made to his next of kin.
