While the crime rate in the areas policed by the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department has gone down every year for the last five years, the drop in the last two years has been remarkable. During the same two-year time period as the violent crime rate has increased statewide almost 15%, it has DROPPED in unincorporated Sacramento County by over 17%. There was a similar drop in property crimes during that time period.
