The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement Team (SAFE) is a multi-jurisdictional, multi-agency task force comprised of two Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department Detectives, one Sacramento Police Department Detective, seven Sacramento County Probation Officers and one Deputy U.S. Marshal. The SAFE Team supervises, monitors and arrests sex offenders within the City and County of Sacramento and the City of Rancho Cordova. The team also conducts compliance investigations into violations of California Penal Code section 290.
On February 19, 2018, at 7:00 P.M. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department SAFE Team arrested 42-year-old Christopher Lawyer of Sacramento. Lawyer is a registered sex offender who recently paroled to Sacramento County from the state of Colorado.
Lawyer is currently under supervised release by California State Parole and is required to wear a GPS ankle monitor. SAFE Team investigators recently discovered Lawyer was in violation of his parole conditions, specifically related to his 10:00 P.M. curfew. Based on the violation of this parole condition, Lawyer was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail where he is being held without bail.
