At 5:57 a.m. on February 12, 2018, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department Communication Center received a 911 call from an area south of the town of Isleton within south Sacramento County.
The caller explained there was a victim at the location who sustained major burns to his body and indicated the incident may have been intentional.
Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Cliffhouse River Access and discovered the victim had been transported from the location by a private vehicle. Sheriff’s Deputies located the crime scene within the river access parking lot. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he is being treated for major burn injuries.
Sheriff’s Detectives began processing the scene and speaking with witnesses. During the course of this investigation, Detectives determined the victim was intentionally set on fire and identified the suspect as 33-year-old Robert Flemmings of Isleton, California.
Just after 3:00 p.m. Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a disturbance call in the 300 block of B Street in Isleton. Upon arrival, a deputy observed Flemmings and was able to safely take him into custody. Flemmings is being held in the Sacramento County Main Jail with his bail set at $350,000.00.
