Just after 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 4, 2017, the Sheriff’s Department Communication Center received a call from a fisherman, who indicated he located a body in the Sacramento River.
Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an area near the town of Isleton, within the County of Sacramento. Upon arrival, deputies were assisted by members of the Sheriff’s Department Marine Enforcement Detail and fire department personnel. Deputies recovered the body and were only able to identify the body as being female.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s office will attempt to determine the identity of the victim in this case. Once the victim is identified and next of kin notifications have been made, the victim’s identity will be made available by the Sacramento County Coroner’s office.
