Homicide in the Parkways

A little after 10:15 p.m. on June 12, 2017, the Sheriff’s Communication Center received a 911 call regarding a male who knocked on the door of a residence in the 5000 block of J Parkway in South Sacramento and stated he had been shot.

Deputies responded to the scene and located the 24-year-old male victim suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper torso.  Deputies also located a vehicle that crashed into a separate  residence.  There was another 24-year-old victim inside the driver’s seat of the vehicle.  Sacramento Metro Fire responded and pronounced the driver deceased at the scene.  The other male victim, who was initially the passenger of the crashed vehicle, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Deputies located evidence of the shooting scene at the intersection of Forest Parkway and East Parkway.  This scene was several blocks from where the victim crashed into the house.  There is no known motive or suspect description at this time.  Homicide detectives are on-scene and beginning their investigation.

The identity of the victim in this case will be made available by the Sacramento County Coroner’s office, after notification has been made to his next of kin.
