This afternoon, Sheriff’s Homicide detectives arrested Kejhonne Henderson, 18, of Sacramento for the murder of 18-year-old Jordan Pannell. He was also arrested for attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon on two other victims of the incident. Henderson was located at an undisclosed residence in Sacramento and arrested without incident.
A little before 12:00 a.m. on May 5, 2017, the Sheriff’s Communication Center received a 911 call regarding a shooting which occurred in the 4400 block of Greenholme Drive in Sacramento. Deputies responded to the scene and located 17-year-old Jordan Pannell suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body, and a 36-year-old female victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower body. Deputies immediately began life saving measures. Sacramento Metro Fire responded and pronounced the Pannell deceased at the scene. The female victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening wounds.
A third 19-year old male victim showed up at a local hospital with gunshot wounds to the lower body and is expected to survive. There was a house party at the location of the shooting. Detectives believe an argument earlier in the evening between the suspect and victim led to the shooting.
Kejhonne Henderson was booked into the Sacramento County Jail on charges of murder, attempted murder, and assault with a deadly weapon. He is currently ineligible for bail, and is scheduled to be arraigned in Sacramento Superior Court on May 9, 2017.
