 HOMICIDE ON LINCOLN VILLAGE DRIVE  

At approximately 2:43PM today (May 16, 2015), the Rancho Cordova Police Department received multiple reports of gunshots fired in the area within the 9800 block of Lincoln Village Drive in Rancho Cordova.  When officers arrived on scene, they discovered a male shooting victim who had been shot at least one time.  The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. 

Numerous witnesses described observing a light colored sedan leave the area at a high rate of speed directly after the shooting.  Sacramento Sheriff Homicide Detectives have responded to the scene to take over the investigation.  At this juncture in the investigation, it is unknown if the victim knew the suspect(s) and a confirmed suspect description is not yet available.
